Known for his tight drum work as part of The Police, Stewart Copeland lent his Classic Reggae and New Wave fusion playing-style to tracks like So Lonely, Don’t Stand So Close To Me, and of course, Roxanne. If you're looking to inject your kit with the same kind of focused sound as Copeland, this Signature Snare from Tama is designed for exactly that purpose. Based on the same 'unnamed' snare that Copeland used during his time with The Police (often referred to as 'Mysterious Provenance'), this one of a kind snare was actually produced by a different drum brand (that shall not be named here), but in the Tama SC145 recreation, Tama have honoured it with accuracy and a particularly devoted sensitivity.

The shell of this snare has been shaped using 1.5mm thick brass which is a touch (0.5mm) thicker than standard brass snares. Why? Copeland himself spells it out by saying that it delivers enough volume to slice through the "dirge from the bass and the ear-piecing sounds of a guitar." This 14-inch diameter and 5-inch deep snare comes supported by a set of Tama Die-Cast tension hoops.
